Today we had the honor of witnessing the union of two wonderful people, Zach and Megan, who exchanged vows at The Meadowlark Event Center before their closest friends and family. We saw all the love and support poured into their lives manifest through practical tasks, like the hours their family spent yesterday perfectly decorating this beautiful Kansas City wedding venue.
We loved their use of our large, movable wooden partitions, which they dressed up using colored fabric. The wedding colors of choice were deep purple, white, and grey, with a lime green accent sprinkled throughout. White and purple tulle, along with purple silk flower garlands, were carefully wrapped around the banisters. Tables were decorated with purple runners over our provided white tablecloths, and the centerpieces were mirror tiles, candles in glass holders, and vases of flower petals. We especially liked their use of twinkle lights over the fabric-covered partitions behind the rectangular head table, which added a soft yet cheerful glow to the surroundings. Jenga blocks were set up on the gift table, encouraging guests to write their well wishes on them for the happy couple.
The couple decided to have the wedding venue set up the same way for both their ceremony and reception, so guests were seated at round tables upon entering the building. An aisle between the two rows of tables was sprinkled with purple silk flower petals. One of the bride’s sons pulled a wagon down the aisle with two adorable young flower girls rocking purple tutu dresses. As the gorgeous bride made her way down the stairs from her bridal suite towards the groom, it was clear that these best friends were more than delighted to be getting married today. After the ceremony was completed, the bride and groom retreated upstairs to relax and take pictures, making use of our stunning antique furniture as a backdrop for some of the photos. Mary and her team led the catering of delicious Italian food, and drinks were served off of our 1800’s bar from Iowa.
Some especially sweet moments that stood out to us were when the bride was escorted down the aisle by one of her sons, and when the groom exchanged vows with his new stepsons to support and care for each other. Congratulations, Zach and Megan! We are so delighted for you two and wish you years and years of love and laughter.
